In a political landscape where many individuals are declaring their intentions to represent the constituency, it is important to note that as early as September, an impressive total of 301 families had already voiced their firm support for Hon. Akinjide Kazeem Akinola. This support was sparked when he generously assisted these families with a sum of ₦50,000 each, aimed at ensuring their children had the necessary resources for back-to-school preparations, including books, school uniforms, and school fees. This act of kindness did not go unnoticed and became a rallying point for many.
Moreover, the residents of Adetoun Ọlọde, who greatly benefited from the installation of a solar-powered borehole to address their critical water needs, had already declared their support in 2023, highlighting the tangible benefits of Akinola’s initiatives. Additionally, the parents of over 1,400 students who received free JAMB forms, along with comprehensive support including free tutorials, digital training, and transportation for three consecutive years, have also pledged their support.
The gesture extends further to beneficiaries of a widespread cash relief initiative that distributed ₦150,000 across the 22 wards of the Egbeda/Ona-Ara constituency. These beneficiaries have unequivocally declared their allegiance as well. Businesswomen who benefited from grants provided to support small enterprises have similarly pledged their support. Furthermore, communities that enjoyed the installation of solar street lights—projects that significantly improved safety and quality of life—have also declared their support for Akinola’s future endeavours.
It is noteworthy that Akinola was not even a serving representative at the time of these benevolent acts; he was simply a devoted son of the soil, committed to uplifting his community without waiting for a formal title. In his vision, sharing memories and experiences of these impactful initiatives carries far more weight than presenting a manifesto filled with promises.
