A group of aspirants for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Ibadan North Federal Constituency has expressed their collective disappointment and strong objection to the conduct of primary elections. The aspirants cited that no delegates’ congress was held and as such, no primary election, as mandated by the party’s constitution and electoral guidelines.
In the communique signed by several aspirants, they categorically stated that any primary election held without adherence to the party’s rules and procedures would be illegitimate.
The aspirants called on stakeholders, including the National Working Committee and the leadership of APC, to intervene in the matter and ensure a free, fair, and transparent primary election process.

To All Progressive Congress,

We, the undersigned aspirants, express our utmost disappointment and strong objection to the purported conduct of primary elections today at a designated venue, which did not hold. Our collective concern stems from the glaring fact that no delegates’ congress was held. In light of this development, we categorically state that any purported primary election held without adherence to our party’s rules and procedures is illegitimate. Notably, the leadership of APC in Ibadan North has also rejected this attempt, aligning with our stance.
We urge the public to disregard any development regarding the purported illegal primaries. We call upon all stakeholders, including the National Working Committee and the leadership of APC, to intervene in this matter and ensure that the process is conducted in a free, fair, and transparent manner. The voices of all aspirants and stakeholders must be heard, and rights protected.
We remain committed to the ideals of our party and the democratic process. We look forward to a swift resolution of this matter and the conduct of a credible primary election that reflects the will of the party faithfully.
