All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial aspirant and Senator representing Oyo North, Sen. AbdulFatai Buhari, PhD, on Saturday, December 6, 2025, joined family members, Islamic scholars, and admirers at the one-year remembrance prayer for the late renowned Islamic preacher, Sheikh (Alh.) Muyideen Ajani Bello. The event was held at the cleric’s residence in the Akobo area of Ibadan.
The late Sheikh Muyideen Bello was widely celebrated for his unwavering commitment to truth, moral guidance, and advocacy for good governance—attributes consistently reflected in his sermons and public engagements.

Speaking at the remembrance, Sen. Buhari described the late scholar as a distinguished Islamic cleric he deeply respected during his lifetime.

“I am happy that people in this number are still honouring the life and times of Sheikh Muyideen Bello. He lived a life devoted to the service of Islam and the nation,” he said.
Sen. Buhari noted that the late cleric was a fearless advocate of responsible leadership, always willing to guide public officeholders towards integrity and accountability.
“He was never tired of charging leaders to follow the right path. He was a constructive opinion moulder and a true statesman,” the lawmaker said.
