Alayande Varsity to Convoke 47,623 NCE Graduates December 16, Marks End of College of Education Era

Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo, is set to convoke 47,623 graduates of the institution’s College of Education between 2005 and 2025. This was disclosed during a press conference held at the University Senate Building in the early hours of Monday.

According to the Vice-Chancellor of the varsity, Prof. Olanrewaju Olaniyan, the convocation ceremony will form part of the university’s 3rd Foundation Day activities. He explained that the exercise is aimed at celebrating the graduates of the old college and formally marking the end of the College of Education era, alongside the full commencement of the university academic programme.

The Vice-Chancellor noted that the convocation is necessary, as there is a need to recognise and celebrate the efforts, time, resources, night vigils, sacrifices, and commitments invested by those who graduated between 2005 and 2025 to earn the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE).

“Their efforts are not just sacrifices to be swept under the carpet. They are worth celebrating, which is why we are conducting this convocation in their honour. It is not just about the certificate, as many of those in this category are today top administrators, captains of industry, business owners, leading politicians, policymakers, and achievers in various fields of life. Rather, it is about celebrating that phase of their lives at a particular point in their individual journeys,” he said.

Prof. Olaniyan added that the university management is delighted to welcome all the graduates back to the institution to be formally convoked and to join in celebrating the 3rd Foundation Day anniversary of Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo.
