Senator AbdulFatai Buhari, representing Oyo North Senatorial District, has inspected the ongoing rehabilitation of the Ogbomoso–Oyo Expressway to assess the progress and quality of work being executed by JRB Construction Company, the contractor handling the project.
The inspection came shortly after the official inauguration of the Alao-Akala Transformation Movement (ATM), held at the Opadoyin residence of the late former Governor of Oyo State, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala.
Speaking on the significance of the movement, Senator Buhari described the ATM as a vital initiative that would help preserve the memory and legacy of the late former governor, whom he described as a political titan who impacted many lives and demonstrated commitment to good governance during his tenure.
During the inspection of the road project, Buhari expressed satisfaction with the quality of work on the section visited, particularly the concrete construction being used for the rehabilitation.
He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving and giving timely attention to the rehabilitation of the road, noting that its completion would significantly ease the difficulties faced by motorists and other road users traveling between Oyo and Ogbomoso.
The senator also expressed optimism about the durability of the project, noting that the concrete pavement, which has a thickness of 20 centimeters, would provide a lasting solution to the challenges previously experienced along the route.
Buhari appealed to residents, motorists and other road users to continue cooperating with the construction company and exercise patience until the complete rehabilitation of the Oyo–Ogbomoso road is concluded.
