Prof Akande expressed the hope that though the nation was passing through a difficult phase in her national life, there was the need to sustain a sense of optimism just as he called for awakening of national consciousness.
Professor Akande, who also teaches at the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, NIDLS, Abuja, further enjoins Nigerians to place emphasis on issues that build up the nation rather than the ones that divide and causes disharmony.
He called for sustenance of efforts from leaders at all levels so that Nigerians would experience better days in the coming days.
The don, however, challenged Nigerians to celebrate in the spirit of moderation and generosity to the underprivileged.
