AbdulFatai Buhari: A Babaluabi For a Reason

0

With his proven track record and a clear agenda for transformation, Senator AbdulFatai Buhari represents a new dawn for Oyo State. The people want him, history prepares him, and the future awaits him.

The first time I came across the name Babaluabi, I imagined an elder statesman with grey hairs, walking stick in hand, serving as a rallying point for his community. But upon searching then, before the 2023 election, what I found was even more inspiring, he is a two-term Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. At that time, he was in the thick of a tough re-election battle for the Senate. Against all odds, and in affirmation of his good works with the people, he emerged the winner of the election. That victory, to many who are aware of the tense and intense politics of the Oyo North Senatorial District, was more than just political. It was proof that Senator AbdulFatai Buhari had truly earned the revered title of Babaluabi of Oyo North Senatorial District, and indeed Oyo State.

Since his re-election for the third time, he has wasted no time in translating the unimaginable support he gets from his people into tangible dividends of democracy. He has been showing impact on infrastructural development, youth employment and empowerment, and educational development through the construction of blocks of classrooms. Healthcare services are not as lagging in Oyo North couples with agricultural interventions and initiatives. Babaluabi has proven that leadership is about lasting impact, not cosmetic affairs. The most remarkable of these is the establishment of the Federal University of Agriculture and Technology, Okeho, which is set to commence academic operations in the 2025/2026 session through his initiation and support of other relevant stakeholders. To him, that’s a landmark achievement that will not only expand access to higher education but also boost the local economy and inspire generations to come in Oyo State and beyond.

Exclusively, Sen. Buhari’s commitment extends beyond physical projects; his style of leadership is rooted in humility, accessibility, and respect for people at all levels. If you are looking for humility, just try to look for him, and see it yourself. Whether interacting with traditional rulers, youths, market women, or fellow lawmakers and all others, Babaluabi embodies the true spirit of Omoluabi. He is a man of integrity, character, and service delivery as evidenced.

Indelible Leadership, Unforgettable Impact: Sen. Fatai Buhari for a Greater Oyo State

Barr. Akeem Agbaje of Oyo State APC for Governor

Judging from the above qualities and impacts he is making, is Sen. AbdulFatai Buhari ‘Babaluabi’ not worthy of being on the table in the search for who should be Oyo State Governor in 2027 after the expiration of Governor Seyi Makinde’s 8 years?

No doubt, and with or without politics, he is the right candidate APC is looking for. He has the heart of the people. He has the ability. He has the credentials. He has shown in various capacities that he is a man of everybody and also passionate about the growth and development of Oyo State. This really shows in his commitment to the development of all the local governments in his Senatorial District as a lawmaker. He is known for building the nation through his numerous human capital development initiatives that might not be matched by his contemporary lawmakers from Oyo State. The records are obviously there for all to see. He is indeed a maker of the future. He has touched many lives all over the state, and he will do more to protect the future of the state.

Babaluabi for a reason is fully in to contest the governorship election of Oyo State, and APC is the party. This is not just another ambition, it is a call of destiny, rooted in service, performance, and vision. With his proven track record and a clear agenda for transformation, Senator AbdulFatai Buhari represents a new dawn for Oyo State. The people want him, history prepares him, and the future awaits him.
